Event Details

The ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE DigHealth Project officially kicked off with its inaugural meeting and first in-person training sessions, held from January 20-23 at the University of Piraeus in Greece. The event brought together 14 experts from 10 partner universities and organizations, focusing on the development of Micro-credentials in Digital Health for Ethiopia and Somalia. These sessions aim to equip healthcare professionals with essential digital health competencies.

Led by Dr. Martin Žagar as the Principal Investigator, alongside Dr. Ana Havelka Meštrović and Dr. Alan Mutka, the DigHealth project is dedicated to improving healthcare access and quality in underserved and remote areas. Through academic programs in telemedicine, e-health, and advanced digital technologies, the project empowers healthcare professionals to address critical health challenges.

SOEYDA's Role in the DigHealth Project:

SOEYDA plays a critical role in the implementation of the DigHealth project in Somalia. As an active partner in the project, SOEYDA is responsible for facilitating the local adaptation and delivery of digital health training programs for Somali healthcare professionals. By supporting the development of essential digital health skills, SOEYDA contributes to improving healthcare quality in underserved regions of Somalia.

Event Mission

The mission of the DigHealth project’s launch event is to bring together key stakeholders, experts, and partners from diverse fields to collaborate on the development of digital health competencies for healthcare professionals in Ethiopia and Somalia. The event serves as a platform to foster knowledge exchange, set the foundation for the project's implementation, and initiate the creation of Micro-credentials in Digital Health. By doing so, we aim to empower healthcare workers in underserved areas to improve healthcare delivery through the use of digital health technologies.

Event Vission

The vision for the DigHealth launch event is to create a collaborative space where academic institutions, healthcare professionals, and technology experts come together to innovate and promote digital health education. By laying the groundwork for specialized training and certifications, this event seeks to inspire a transformative shift in how healthcare professionals are trained to address critical health challenges through telemedicine, e-health, and digital health solutions.
